The surge is on!

Some more fine masking by Team Dewitt!
Hallway to front door

After a few days of taping, mud, sanding...
These guys set to slapping mud on the walls for a cool texture Casey found.

These are the brushes used to help create the wall texture

Living room all textured...
The mud is still wet so doesn't reveal the real texture

Kitchen ceiling - first step to texturing...
Stomp the brush full of mud on walls & ceiling...
then use trowel to spread it all around.

Tomorrow Casey hopes to apply a coat of primer and maybe the first coat of paint.

We've moved out for a few days - Team Dewitt adopted us.
Thanks again for that too~*

Tidal Wave hits....

emptying the kitchen was only the beginning...

Casey dropped the Sheetrock from the ceiling so he could
put in recessed lighting

Sheetrock going back up

looking good - next steps:
taping, mud, mess, sanding, mess, texture...

Casey decided he wanted to not only texture and paint
the kitchen/dining area, but the little bathroom,
halls and living room as well.

Team Dewitt
They were a great help
(They definitely earned their pizza and diet Dr. Pepper that night!)
Thank you guys ~ hug!

The rest of the cabinets out, sheet rock on walls and ceiling out...

Four Robin Chicks!!!!!!

picture of the baby robin chicks
4 eggs hatched :)
(with flash)

Momma Robin ever watchful and protective... We waited days for her to wander for my pics!
We didn't want to disturb her :)
Casey mowed the lawn today and it was a warmer evening than usual... so mom wandered looking for worms... we stole pics of her chicks while she was away :)

Can you count the 3 robin chick beaks?
There is one at 12:30 and another at 1:00
If you look closely you will see another at 3:00
The last bird beak (head) isn't visible... but it's body is at 7:00!
COOL!

Early Morning - Bear Aware!

The geese finally arrived - we were missing them in the pond
- we've seen Mallards and Widgeons, but no geese until today -

Woke up one morning with a black bear in our back yard - eating bird seed that had fallen from the feeder. (This bear was collared)
